Information for patients

For those of you who have been referred by your doctor for surgery at CZ Clinic, these lines will hopefully be useful so that you can prepare for the surgery without stress. As part of the planning of the surgical program, we try to ensure that our patients do not have to wait anywhere for long on the day of surgery. Therefore, the CZ Clinic team will contact you by phone before the surgery and specify the time of arrival on the day of surgery.

Most procedures at the clinic are performed under general anesthesia. The date written in your outpatient report is the day of the operation! It does not start the day before, as in a hospital, for example! It is necessary to arrive at the appointment on the date of the operation with a preoperative examination from your general practitioner. Before general anesthesia, it is important not to eat, drink or smoke from midnight on the day of the operation! Otherwise, we would have to postpone your operation. Believe me, we only care about your safety during the operation. For the anesthesiologist, it is necessary to bring a completed anesthesia form with you (downloadable), but it will also be provided to you at the reception on the day of admission.

With the outpatient report from your doctor and the preoperative examination (preferably with the anesthesia questionnaire and informed consent), you will arrive at the reception at the time specified by the CZ Clinic staff. Here, the nurse will take the prepared forms from you, or help you fill them out, add them to the patient card, collect the financial amount according to the set price list (operating fee 1,000 CZK, in the case of accommodation until the second day 2,000 CZK) and take you to your room. After handing over the card to the department, your blood pressure and pulse are measured, weight and height are recorded and after a short conversation with the anesthesiologist, you are ready for surgery under general anesthesia.

After the operation, the doctor who performed the operation will visit you and inform you about the course of the operation and the proposed postoperative care. When you are discharged, you will be given a discharge report with the date of the check-up with your attending physician.

On behalf of the CZ Clinic staff, we wish you a speedy recovery.
