Nanoscopy, or NSK, is a new method provided in our facility CZ Clinic s.r.o. We are the first to purchase an NSK device in the Czech Republic and perform these “therapeutic-diagnostic” procedures. In essence, it is a method that is entering the hands of sports orthopedists for rapid diagnosis and easier therapy of injuries, not only to the knee joints. It partially replaces magnetic resonance and is more advantageous in that it can also be used for easier therapeutic procedures, such as treating menisci or cartilage. It is a thin optic the width of a wider needle, which is inserted into the joint under local anesthesia. The patient and the doctor can watch the screen and at the same time discuss the issue with the doctor. As a very advantageous supplement, we give our patients Entonox - a nitrous oxide-based preparation that reduces the patient's stress from the ongoing operation. Thanks to its short-term effect, patients leave the operating room without crutches and with full weight on the operated joint. The entire procedure takes about 10-20 minutes, after the operation the patient goes home for treatment where we recommend a rest regime for 3-4 days. He leaves on his own, usually without crutches and is able to drive a car immediately. This means that 24 hours of observation after general anesthesia and the risks associated with general anesthesia are eliminated. As for sports activities, if the joint is free of swelling, it is possible to pedal on an exercise bike the next day and start swimming 10 days after the operation. Discuss lighter running according to the given diagnosis with the attending physician. After the operation, the surgical wound is covered only by sterile plasters, so it is not sewn with a classic stitch - therefore, there is no need to wait in the ambulance for a check-up to remove the stitches. After the operation, hyaluronic acid can be applied to the joint immediately in the operating room (additional fee from 1,000 CZK or ACP) - it helps healing after the procedure.

In conclusion... don't be afraid of nanoscopy, it is a lighter diagnostic procedure with the possibility of treating your problems right away - whether you have pain or a condition after an injury to the joint. Without the need to wait for further paraclinical examinations and without general anesthesia, the time of your treatment for the given problem is shortened (there is no need for a preoperative examination, magnetic resonance imaging, etc.).
