If you have an acute knee injury and the diagnosis is an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, the InternalBrace ACL method can be used for its reconstruction.

The principle of this method is to sew the ACL back together when it is torn in the upper part from the bone - due to the blood supply and physiology of the ACL, it is not possible to repair other types of ACL injuries in this way. Before the surgical solution, your orthopedist does not know where your ligament has torn, even when diagnosing an LCA tear, but a tear in the upper part is the most common of all types. If the quality of the ACL is preserved and there is no excessive tearing of the ligament, we choose the Internal Brace method, which consists in introducing a firm tape in close contact with the ligament and reattaching it to the bone at the site of the tear. The difference in this operation and classic ACL plastic surgery is mainly in the return to sports activities. If the ligament injury is well-organized and the operation goes smoothly, with the innovative reconstruction method, sports can be resumed as early as 8 weeks after the injury. With the InternalBrace method, 4mm wide channels are drilled for the introduction of fixation elements.
